My hometown was Provincetown, MA. Joined Navy just after high school in Sept. 1954. Did basic in Bainbridge, MD, then on to Electrician’s Mate School at Great Lakes, IL. Was assigned to the Bristol in May of 1955. Cruises included, the Med, Northern Europe, GTMO (3 times!), and crossing equator on way to Chile. Was EM3 when transferred to USS Yellowstone Nov. 1957. Promoted to EM2 on 16 Nov 57, and discharged in August 1958.

Studied electronics at The Franklin Institute of Boston, went on to work at Bell Laboratories (later called Lucent). Had assignments in cellular, microwave radio and satellite communications research. Retired after 33 years as a Member of Technical Staff.

My son has one girl, 9, and my daughter has twin girls, 11.  Hobbies now include dabbling in photography and computers (PC and Mac).
